Free eufyMake E1 Print-Scale Calibration Tool

Is your eufyMake E1 UV printer printing slightly the wrong size — a little long or short across the bed, with one axis off and the other fine? This free tool helps you measure your machine’s exact print-scale error on the X and Y axes and calculate the compensation you need so your designs print true to size.

In short: UV printers can print a hair larger or smaller than your design specifies, and the amount often differs between the X and Y axes. Over a full-bed print that can drift a millimeter or more — enough to ruin alignment jigs and edge-to-edge work. First, rule out a hardware cause with eufyMake (encoder strip / belt tension). If you still need to correct it, measure your error with the test ruler below and apply the compensation factor to your design.
Check with eufyMake first. A scale error on a single axis usually has a hardware cause, and that is the right place to start. eufyMake’s own guidance is to contact their support before troubleshooting. For shifted or distorted prints, eufyMake points to two things you can check:
  • The clear encoder strip — the thin strip the print head reads to track its position along the X axis. Ink spray or dust on it can cause positioning and calibration errors. eufyMake warns that improperly touching or contaminating it causes calibration errors, so follow their instructions exactly or let support guide you.
  • Belt tension — a loose belt can let the carriage drift. Re-seat / re-tension per eufyMake’s guidance.

How to measure your print scale (4 steps)

  1. Print the test ruler on paper or flat media at actual size. Confirm eufyMake Studio shows it about 305 mm wide — do not let it “scale to fit.”
  2. Measure with calipers from the 0 line out to each marked distance, measuring the same edge of each line so the line thickness cancels out.
  3. Enter your readings above. The tool finds the best-fit scale for each axis and gives you a compensation factor.
  4. Apply & verify. Resize your design by the factor, reprint the ruler scaled the same way, and re-measure. Spans should now read true. Printer error can be slightly non-linear, so a second small tweak may dial it in.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my eufyMake E1 print slightly the wrong size?
Every UV printer has a small scale tolerance, and it can differ between the X and Y axes. On a small graphic it’s invisible; across a full bed it can add up to a millimeter or more. It is often tied to hardware such as the encoder strip or belt tension, so check those with eufyMake first.
Is there a scale or steps-per-mm setting in eufyMake Studio?
No. The E1’s calibrations are the automatic camera calibration and Zero-Point calibration, and Zero-Point sets where a print starts (position), not how large it prints (scale). There is no X/Y scale adjustment in the software, so a scale correction is made in the design.
Why is my X axis off but my Y axis is fine?
The two axes move on separate mechanics, so they can have different scale tolerances. An X-only error that grows with distance is consistent with the X encoder strip or X belt, which is why eufyMake’s troubleshooting points there for shifted or distorted prints.
How do I fix a print-scale error on the eufyMake E1?
First rule out a hardware cause with eufyMake support (encoder strip cleaning and belt tension per their docs). If a difference remains, measure it with the ruler above, then scale your design by the compensation factor before printing.
